At LinguaTech, we care deeply about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in connection with the LinguaLoop mobile application ("App"). By using LinguaLoop, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. Terms used here that are not defined have the meaning given in our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of personal information:
- Name and Email Address: Collected through Apple Sign-In to create and manage your account.
- User ID: A unique identifier associated with your account, used internally to manage your profile and app data.
- Purchase History: Subscription data (monthly or annual), including plan type and status, used to manage access to paid content.
- Gameplay Content: Responses generated during language activities (e.g., dictation or quizzes) are stored and analyzed to improve learning outcomes.
- Product Interaction: Usage events (e.g., app opened, activity completed) are collected to understand general app usage and improve the experience.
- Customer Support: If you contact us, we store any details you provide in order to respond and assist you effectively.
- Analytics & Diagnostics: Device model, OS version, crash logs and usage performance metrics collected through Firebase Analytics to improve stability and measure feature adoption.
We do not collect passwords or payment card data. Subscription payments are processed via Apple.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data to:
- Authenticate and manage your user account
- Enable access to free or premium content
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features and content difficulty
- Provide customer support
- Monitor technical performance and usage trends
We do not use your data for marketing or advertising purposes.
3. Advertising and Tracking
We do not use your personal information for advertising, tracking, or data brokerage. We do not engage in cross-app tracking or share user data with advertising platforms.
4. How We Collect Information
We collect information:
- Directly from you when you create an account or contact us
- Automatically through the app (e.g., device and usage data)
- From third-party platforms (e.g., Apple) when authorized by you
5. Third-Party Services
We use Supabase as our backend service provider. Supabase handles user authentication, data storage, and analytics infrastructure. All user data is securely stored on Supabase servers.
Other service providers:
- Firebase (Google LLC) — analytics & crash reporting.
- YouTube API (Google LLC) — fetches public video metadata; no personal data is sent.
6. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We only share it:
- With service providers under strict data processing agreements (e.g., for analytics or infrastructure hosting)
- When required by law or in legal proceedings
- With your consent or at your request
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the service or as required by applicable law. Upon deletion of your account, we will securely delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days unless legal retention obligations apply.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile › Settings › Delete Account inside the app. We erase or anonymise your data at the moment of deletion.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Access – obtain confirmation that we process your data and receive a copy.
- Rectification – correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure – request deletion (“right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances.
- Restriction – ask us to pause processing while we verify accuracy or our legal basis.
- Portability – receive your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller.
- Objection – object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your request properly. A list of EU authorities is available here.
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

9. Security Measures
We rely on Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, to implement industry-standard security measures including secure server infrastructure, encrypted data transmission, and access controls. While we rely on trusted third-party providers and follow best practices, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Children’s Privacy
You must be 13 years of age or older—or at least the minimum age required in your country—to use LinguaLoop. If you are between 13 and 17, you may only use the app with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we discover that such information has been provided, we will delete it promptly and may suspend the associated account.
11. International Users
Your data is processed and stored in secure data centers operated by our service providers, including Supabase, which may be located in jurisdictions outside of your country of residence. These locations may not have the same data protection laws as your home country. By using LinguaLoop, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will notify you of material changes through the App or by other means. The date of the last update is posted at the top of this document.
